Good riddance
Well, I’m a lifelong conservative and I say good riddance to Kinzinger and Cheney.
Minimum wage & college tuition
Today’s hourly minimum wage is $7.25, and has been so for twelve years. The cost of college has gone up substantially in the last 12 years. Back in the day, I worked my way through college because colleges were much more affordable. Today I would have to take out a loan to attend college no matter how much I worked in between classes. College today is so expensive that students are awash in debt for many years after graduating. It’s not fair. Any other developed country in the world offers free college for everyone. Let’s follow their example so that all Americans can go to college, not just rich kids.
Critical race theory & the state flag
According to critical race theory teaching, the Mississippi state flag was only changed due to economic pressure. Where is the data for that statement? I personally voted for the change, as did the majority because it was time for our state to move ahead and let the past stay in the past. History cannot change, but should be remembered so we will not repeat it.
Thank you to CRT class
Many thanks to Brittany Murphree for her enlightened story of Law 743, a critical race theory course at the University of Mississippi. She opened my eyes that learning about something foreign isn’t bad. How else can we become better citizens of this great United States?
