Domestic violence double standard
I’ve never had a daughter or female acquaintance involved in a domestic violence situation like the ones recently reported in the Sun Herald. But I would be very upset with the authorities that should have done better. Prosecutor Olen Anderson agreed to a non-adjudicated plea, saying he viewed Colin Freeman’s actions as “just a shoving incident.” Sheriff Ricky Adam can say he “didn’t know” about the prior incident, but followed that without any pledge to get involved. This whole situation shows a very troubling double standard within the blue.
Seaway Bridge traffic
Many of us travel on Lorraine Road and experience the single-lane traffic crossing the Seaway Bridge. Some get in the open lane and stay there as others rush by until it goes to one lane and then attempt to merge. This angers those who have patiently waited. To those people, you are doing it wrong. The proper and fair way to do this is to fill both lanes evenly as far back as the line exists. Then, by alternating at the choke point, everyone gets through at the appropriate time. This is fair, and no one will be angered by those taking advantage of the empty lane. Think about it.
Nurses & the vaccine
To the person who wants to know how vaccinated nurses do a better job than unvaccinated nurses: It’s simple. Vaccinated nurses are less likely to infect their patients, therefore they do a better job of not causing serious illness or death to already compromised hospital patients.
A ludicrous policy
The Biden Administration is discharging military personnel who refuse to take a vaccine which has been irrefutably shown not to stop transmission of COVID. National guardsmen are next. People, they’ve volunteered to serve in harm’s way. Russia and China must be laughing their heads off at such a ludicrous policy.
