Vaccinate your children

Another young Mississippian has been reported to have died from COVID-19. That’s eleven who have died so far. Yet, commentators on morning radio continue to rant and rave against vaccination for children. When will they learn?

Unvaccinated nurses

Unvaccinated nurses are much more likely to get COVID than vaccinated nurses. If I have to go to the hospital as a patient, I do not want an unvaccinated nurse attending to me. It has nothing to go with the nurse’s competency.

Is omicron really that mild?

Yeah, the omicron variant seems to be fairly mild for many people, particularly if you’ve had your shots. However, you need to ask the near 300 folks in Mississippi’s ICUs (with close to 200 on ventilators) and the 30-40 average number of folks dying every day if they think it’s mild. An eleventh child under 5 has died in the state.

Whoopi Goldberg’s comments on ‘The View’

When Whoopi Goldberg commented the Holocaust was not a race war, she revealed her ignorance of history, her bias and her own narcissistic racism. For Hitler and the Nazis, the attempted extermination of Jews was all about race. She should read Mein Kampf. Hitler also pursued Gypsies, the mentally and physically challenged, Russians and other groups perceived as inferior. She’s totally unaware that she is nursing the same resentment and hatred as did Hitler. Whoopi, you ain’t the only person in this world.

Secretive grant funding in D’Iberville

D’Iberville was awarded a grant (public money) for the development of a waterfront district near the Scarlet Pearl. How can the mayor, council, and city manager keep the details of this plan secret from the public? Last night they went into an executive session to discuss the plan so the property owners in the area wouldn’t know about it and seek a fair price for their property. Shady! This is public money and the public should be part of the process.
