Sound Off for Dec. 27
Start ticketing drivers
It is no surprise that Mississippi is rated as one of the worst states for driving. I drive the U.S. 90 raceway to and from work everyday, where people are driving way above the posted speed limit. It is on very rare occasion that I see a driver pulled over by the police. Until our local police start ticketing the speeders, the highway will continue to be a dangerous raceway.
Hazardous waste
To the person who left two printers at the Diamondhead recycling station, Hancock County hazardous waste disposal was about a month ago at the fairgrounds. The recycling dumpster is clearly marked as to what items are acceptable and which ones are not. Electronics are not.
Research global warming
To the person linked global warming to cold weather, your post confirms all the statistics about Mississippians’ lack of education. Global warming is a symptom of climate changes that upsets the balance of nature, including stronger hurricanes, more tornadoes, fires, mudslides and other severe weather events.
Ranking last
Gov. Tate Reeves is doing a good job of keeping Mississippi at the bottom with education, poverty and chronic illnesses. Must be why he is for abolishing income tax to attract businesses proving he is not concerned about its citizens.
Clean up your property
Gulfport High School has property on Victory Street. Use your grounds crew to keep it free of trash and trim that magnificent oak tree.
