Sound Off for Dec. 22
Landon Road project
The City of Gulfport started road work to place a new sewer line for the “ widening project” on Landon Road. It started about May and quit in June or July and it sits as they left it. So my Merry Christmas to the residents on Coleman Road was to decorate the lovely port-o-let they left us.
Trash on the street
We pick up trash on our streets in my neighborhood all the time and people will still throw new trash on the ground. Why?
COVID is climbing
Seven-day new case averages in Mississippi, which was running comfortably under 500 new COVID cases each day, just jumped to over 600. The seven-day death average jumped from under give to near seven per day. Those of you who refuse to get vaccinated, please stay away from each other (and me) over the holidays.
Facts of life
Fact: You don’t have to know a lot of scientist’s names to understand the need to get vaccinated. Fact 2: If you are worried about the vaccine’s minimal side effects, just wait until you experience the debilitating effects of the drugs needed to save what’s left of your life when you have to be hospitalized.
The birds are back
I’ve had about five dozen or so ravenous black and brown feathered birds at my feeders and on the ground today. I’ll need to go buy more seed in a day or two. Glad to see them back.
Quidditch
I’d say to Quidditch enthusiasts that it’s juvenile and not a good idea to run around with a stick between your legs trying to place a ball in a hoop to mimic the Harry Potter movie. You know you’re not really flying, right?
