Sound Off for Nov. 23, 2021

The workplace

This is to writer of the Sound Off headlined “My choice.” What does it matter whether stockholders are vaccinated? They don’t come to the workplace.

The president

President Biden is not responsible for high gas prices or anything. He is totally irresponsible.

Need advice

Where is the best place to buy a refrigerator? Is it Home Depot, Lowe’s or Best Buy? Those are the only places I’ve found that deliver and install. Where else can you get one?

Way to go

Congratulations to U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker for supporting the decision by Mississippi to break affiliation with the National School Board Association, as did several states across the country. The NSBA contacted the president to seek federal protection for school boards for “harassment” by the public. Only, the truth is the NSBA wanted to restrict the dissent of parents upset with their arrogance and display of total disregard for parental concerns at their meetings. All one needs to do is go to YouTube and search for School Board meetings. You may get the surprise of your life.

A few questions

Wait a minute. This new app that allows us to have our driver’s license on our phone will also allow police to have Bluetooth access to our phone before even speaking to us? Normally, Bluetooth access has to be granted. Does the app allow law enforcement to bypass that restriction? That’s a privacy invasion. And, what if there are 12 people in the car and they all have phones? How will the officer know which phone identity belongs to the driver? Sounds like we are giving up way too much freedom for a little convenience.

No place

Criminal executions do not always kill criminals. Many innocent men and women have been executed for crimes that they did not commit. I am talking about cases where it was later proven that someone else committee the crime. This barbaric practice of eye-for-an-eye justice has no place in a democracy.

Supply and demand

This is to the naive people who don’t believe the president and Congress affect gas price. Their actions of canceling the keystone pipeline and reducing offshore drilling have reduced supply, thereby increasing price.

Wrong time

I am so disappointed. In the B News Monthly published by the city of Biloxi, it was printed that the Southern Miss Gulf Coast Civic Chorale Holiday Concert on Nov. 21 was to be at 2:30 p.m. Attending this concert just before Thanksgiving begins my holiday each year. We arrived in time to hear two songs after the director introduced the members. Beautiful music it was, as usual. I was saddened that the B News printed an incorrect time. The concert began at 2 p.m., not 2:30 p.m. Please have someone review the news articles before printing. Gas is expensive these days.

Better balance

Since the Sun Herald insists on printing the left writings of Leonard Pitts Jr, it would be nice to see writing by someone who is just as far to the right. So much of the issues with society today is that neither side is willing to hear the other. i.e. it is my way and only my way. Give us balance and let the readers decide, not a left leaning editorial staff.
