Sound off for Nov. 4

Gulfport port

Reading about all the shipping issues at west coast ports. How’s the port in Gulfport doing?

Medical marijuana

Gov. Tate Reeves wants to limit the strength and dosage of medical marijuana. Looks like 74% of Mississippi voters will have one more year of disappointment to wait out .

Rest in peace, Abby

Rest In Peace, Abby Bosarge. You showed us all how to live.

Gulfport roads

The city is planning to upgrade roads. Does this mean purchasing new orange cones, or will something actually be repaired? And in what year?

Discipline the DMV

I was shocked and appalled when I read how the Hattiesburg Department of Motor Vehicle employees treated Alexandra Dogwood. As employees who are paid with taxpayer dollars, they have an obligation to practice nondiscrimination. I would prefer that my dollars go to people who treat others with dignity, compassion and respect. I would like to know what the manager of the DMV is doing to assure no one is ever treated again as this woman was. I believe disciplinary action is also needed.

Go after absent fathers

I truly feel for single moms going it alone with kids, but why is it the government’s responsibility to care for you? How about going after deadbeat dads who shun their financial responsibility?

Indigenous People Month

November is Indigenous People Month. It would be nice to see more mentioned about indigenous people of Mississippi by all the media.

Reeves & vaccine mandate

Mr. Governor, not everyone agrees with you. I want the COVID vaccination mandates. Why aren’t you fighting for my civil liberty to stay healthy? If you’re my governor, why aren’t you protecting me, my family and the people of our state?

It’s not just about you

To the person who said, “Why do you care about those that didn’t get the shot,” I say talk to the widow who is left to raise children on her own or talk to the parent who has lost a child years ago but now is worried about the surviving child who won’t take the shot and is “taking her chances.” It’s not all about you. Your actions can possibly affect those that love you.
