Yes, I have received assistance and answers to issues from U.S. Rep. Steven Palazzo. Nothing political. If you are trying to get support for a liberal issue, that is not why we elected him.
It’s a choice
Question: If the flu shot is not mandated, why should a vaccine shot be mandated? They use the excuse of there being other vaccines for other diseases. The other vaccinations are for more deadly diseases and have been around for 50 years. The vaccine shot has been around barely a year. I’ve gotten the vaccine, but don’t believe anyone should be forced to take it. It was my choice.
To clarify...
In comments about last Monday’s “Jeopardy!” show, a reader didn’t seem to understand the category name. For all five clues under “Geographic Stupid Answers,” each answer was actually in the clue. The words “Gulf” and “port” were contained within, “This port on the Gulf of Mexico was founded by Captain Hardy & is co-seat with Biloxi of Harrison County.” Each answer was intended to make a player slap his head and say, “How did I miss that?”
Crazy suggestion?
Friday morning a caller to a conservative radio talk show said the answer to the shipping gridlock was simple to solve. His answer was to send all the Chinese ships back to China. Think about that. He actually suggested that the USA terminate business with our country’s largest trade-partner. And, the show’s commentator tacitly agreed. Unbelievable naïveté.
A look back
Are we back in 1978? Jimmy Carter is president. Gas prices are through the roof, the economy is tanking and inflation is at 5.4% and climbing. What a disaster.

How long before the new taxes on the rich bring down gas and food prices? Asking for a friend.
Misinformation campaign
Someone wrote in Sound Off that the higher the vaccination rate, the higher the cases of COVID. Actually the vaccine is 95% effective in preventing COVID. I understand that Sound Off is open to all opinions, but this misinformation is not helpful in stopping this pandemic. Facts are not opinion. The clear fact is that higher vaccination rates keep the COVID rates down.
Manners, please
I don’t know about the rest of you but I was taught not to speak with food in my mouth in elementary school. Someone should tell Nancy Pelosi. Every single time she speaks on TV she either has gum or candy in her mouth. How could no one ever have called her out on this? How rude.
The president
In less than a year, President Biden has fumbled immigration, the Afghanistan withdrawal, the economy, labor shortages, international relations, China, Russia, Iran, the COVID vaccine process and therapeutic availability. He campaigned by letting the media portray him as a paternal moderate, when in fact he is pushing the most radical restructuring of America ever and presiding as a tyrant without respecting constitutional limitations.
