Butterflies

Native milkweed is available from seeds online or plants at Crosby Arboretum plant sales (and other nurseries). Butterflies love nectaring at baccharis (groundsel), boneset, ageratum, swamp sunflower and many other natives. Quit mowing everywhere. Quit trying to eliminate native plants.

Cut the grass

It looks like the city of Biloxi is resorting to their old tricks in keeping the city clean. Let the grass grow long enough on Popps Ferry Road and no one will see all the trash. Someone is being paid to cut this grass. Now they need to actually do the job.

Complainers

Sound Off has become a platform for complainers that most of the time don’t know what they’re talking about! If they really cared or understood an issue, they would talk to their political leaders! It has almost become a comedy act reading some of the posts. It’s part of the hate culture we live in.

Water change

Something has happened to the Ocean Springs water. It has a strong smell like bleach. Is that unhealthy to drink? I have bought water from the grocery store to drink until the water smell is corrected or the state of Mississippi says it is safe to drink.

Recycling

Why should residents of Gulfport pay $39.90 a month when they are more late than on time or days late? Recycle]ing didn’t pick up all the bins on my street. Do they get to pick and choose? We already pay too much for these services compared to other cities, and can’t recycle glass.

Values

We just received a mailout from congressman Palazzo stating “Washington needs more Mississippi values.” One of Mississippi’s values includes the state receiving $2.88 from the federal government for every dollar Mississippians pay in federal taxes.
