Not enough money
Mississippi can’t pay their basic bills because over the years taxes have been lowered too much, and now there is not enough money to run this state. Lowering taxes gets people elected, but not having enough money in the til is why Mississippi continues to be last in so many areas.
Tax cuts
I see some state officials say we have a spending problem not a revenue problem. This is Republican-speak for cutting taxes for the rich and big corporations so they will contribute to political campaigns. Like they cut taxes a few years ago, you know when Reeves was planning on running for governor.
IRS
Will someone please tell me why the IRS needs to know about any $600+ bank transaction? If I pay my taxes what business is it if theirs what I do with my money?
Communal feeling
The “Just mind your business” writer who does not understand why folks complain about those who are unvaccinated: Unvaccinated people are prolonging the pandemic. It is our business because vaccine protection wanes over time. And you should feel some communal responsibility in this.
Vaccines
The best way to get those sleeves rolled up: suspend benefits until vaccine cards are given. Remember, If you’re not part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem.
Broken record
Shortly after COVID-19 cases started showing up in the U.S., someone predicted between 80,000 and 240,000 Americans would die. I thought for sure we would keep it under 80,000. Boy, was I wrong. We are at 702,360 and counting. During the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, about 670,000 Americans died.
