Hospitality

The Sun Herald could have greeted our many visitors this week with Cruisin’ headlines front and center on their front page. Instead headlines and the accompanied article with mostly details from last year flag presence took over page one. Come on guys roll out your welcome mat!

Too bad

To the so-called car enthusiast that was disturbed by conservative symbols that may include Trump support stickers and flags, too bad. I suggest that when the NFL, NBA, MLB and other groups abandon their political displays of support at public events, then perhaps Cruisin’ The Coast will consider the absurdity.

True colors

Now is the time South Mississippi to stand up for all its citizens. Cruisin’ gives tourists an image of the old South where everyone was not wanted. I was born here and I’m not going anywhere!

Political flags

Don’t necessarily like all the political signs at Cruisin’ The Coast, but it is an expression of free speech. So I will always support one’s ability to speak freely!

Look away

Enough about the flags! Can’t Cruisin’ The Coast be fun, as it was intended? Last week, I took a trip to my rural hometown in southwest Mississippi, and saw more than one Confederate flag flying on private property. Don’t be offended by the darn thing, just look the other way.

Cruel

When is it going to stop? Trump lost and “we the people” lost when he was in office. Trump’s bitterness, sarcasm and poor character has turned this great country into a divided country. I have lived through 11 presidents, and never have I seen this country as cruel as it is today!
