Sound Off for Sept. 21, 2021
Opinions vs. facts
Instead of just listening to pundits telling you what you should think, try reading the paper. A lot of the comments in the Sound Off are just not factual. I know it’s your opinion, but please stop and research first.
Expansion
Could the insurance lobbyists have an effect on Mississippi politicians’ refusal to expand Medicaid?
Far removed
Our governor was on the news arguing about our president mandating vaccines and what it could lead to in the future. He asks, “what power will be handed to the President next?” The arguments of trying to prove the other side (party) wrong are getting boring and silly.
Same standard
The Coastal Mississippi CEO learned a tough lesson. It may be time for the Harrison County Development Commission to apply the same standard in its CEO performance review. The CEO is still saying Buc-ee’s will save us. Ocean Aero is not maritime commerce for the port. Not one ILA job created.
Legal action
Gov. Reeves’ talk of taking legal action against Biden is misguided. The best action is for him to disregard his hurt feelings, quit spending money on attorneys, and get his citizens vaccinated. He’s wasting time. His rhetoric is confusing those who remain on the fence about getting vaccinated.
Same board?
Isn’t the board that approved Milton Segarra’s hiring and salary and benefits in 2017 the very same board that now has a problem with his salary and benefits?
Investigation
Just watched Mississippi State game, if ever an investigation in sports betting fraud by referees is needed, this is the test game.
