Sound Off for Sept. 19, 2021
Thank you
This is to “Old Timer” who praised the Sun Herald delivery team. I’m an “old timer“ who delivers the Sun Herald, and I appreciate the acknowledgment. We do face weather challenges plus irate dogs, wayward strangers and assorted wildlife.
Big loss
What a loss of leadership to the Gulf Coast with Milton Segarra leaving! What is wrong with the Tourism board? Maybe some of them should terminated!
Major blow
Losing Milton Segarra as CEO of Coastal Mississippi is a major blow to the future of the Coast. Milton was a consummate professional whose vision and knowledge could have moved us up from a C+ destination to a B+. I am simply amazed that a small gang of narrow minded people can have such influence.
Tourism talent
Glad to see the Coastal Mississippi Board finally came to their senses and let Milton Segarra go! I question the board’s decision to hire him in the first place. Bringing in someone who had no affiliation whatsoever with the Coast to “sell” the Coast never made much sense to me.
At risk
Mississippi has the highest number of COVID deaths in the nation per capita. Yet we have a governor who is doing nothing about it. And we have local leaders right here on the Coast who are promoting huge super-spreader events like Cruisin’ the Coast which will put thousands of more people at risk.
Silver anniversary
For the 25th Anniversary, wouldn’t it be great if the 374 car owners from the inaugural year (1996) of Cruisin’ the Coast were invited to display those cars in a reserved area?
Traffic cams
MDOT in all its wisdom has repaired/replaced the traffic cams most everywhere else after Zeta took them out last year. Instead of doing that here along Highway 90 in Gulfport/Biloxi, they just took them down. Thanks a bunch MDOT.
