Sound Off for Sept. 13, 2021
Very frustrating
Ever since Hurricane Ida grazed South Mississippi, the lights at the intersection of Popps Ferry Road and Atkinson Road cause a huge delay for those going east and west. Maybe they were adjusted to allow boats to go under the Popps Ferry bridge, but the storm is long gone. I hope they’re readjusted.
Sidewalk needed
Victory Street in Gulfport needs a side walk. GHS students walk to school along with residents. Traffic-wise it is one of the busiest streets, connecting Courthouse and Tegarden roads. It’s a safety hazard!
Vaccinations
Children entering all Mississippi schools (pre-kindergarten to 12th grade) must have proof of all the following vaccinations:
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (DTaP)
- Polio (IPV)
- Hepatitis B.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Chickenpox (Varicella)
Civil rights
A person’s civil rights cannot be removed by any other citizen, business or the federal government. Nevertheless, President Biden has decided to force Americans to put something into their body that they do not want. Also, why is the post office exempt?
Biden
Did Biden really just say,”My job as president is to protect all Americans?” Too bad he forgot that job description when it comes to his failures in Afghanistan.
MS a prime example
“In many parts of the country — including some with the highest rates of resistance to vaccination — science education is particularly poor, owing to politicization of fundamental issues such as evolution and climate change, which in many cases have been excluded from school curricula.”
