Wicker’s visit

I hope Sen. Wicker enjoyed his Coast visit. As a conservative, I cannot help but wonder why he was fawning all over the liberal commerce secretary on her photo-op tour. It would be nice to have the senator just admit that he is a Democrat. Trent Lott would not have given her the time of day.

Spending

Republicans have been pulling the same trick for years. They come to office, spend like drunken sailors, then complain about the debt they created when Democrats come to power. Trump left us with the biggest debt ever because of his tax cut for the rich, and there wasn’t a peep from Republicans.

Hiding

So if you are stuck on how reparations should be done, then you are filibustering. Southern landowners were given reparations for the loss of their property, including slaves. The enslaved workers were promised land and a mule, but this was not done. So, let’s trace back to them and correct a wrong.

Long list

I think that it is possible to trace former slave owners, like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Those are the ones who should be paying reparations, if any. Let’s don’t stop with slave owners. We need to go after the business owners who used child labor also. The list is long who did wrong in that period of history.

Reparations

No one in my family going back 100 years has ever owned a slave. No one I know has ever been a slave, nor their parents or grandparents have been slaves. Why should I pay for something I had no part of?

Changing history

The National Archives conducted a mandated internal review and discovered, unsurprisingly, that their rotunda supported systemic racism. The Biden administration has ordered all parts of government to go and look, so you can bet they’ll find.

All in a name

If they were called Infra-Obama or Obama-stim, Mississippi wouldn’t take federal infrastructure or stimulus funds either.
