NBA star
At last the Sun Herald has recognized Devin Booker who was a local basketball player and is now an NBA star. I am not an NBA devotee, but I have followed Booker’s career since Moss Point. He is a great player.
Thank you
To “Life Well Lived,” a big thank you for your generous words about Chief Urbati from his family.
Fun history
Kat Bergeron’s Sunday column on Biloxi’s Point Cadet is a treasure. I’m an old Coast soul, but I didn’t know the origin of the name “Cadet” or the original pronunciation. Thanks, Kat! You make history fun.
More trash cans
The parking lot at the shopping center on E. Pass and Cowan Road is atrocious! No trash cans. Managers should have someone to at least pick up outside their stores.
Welcome to the Coast
Yes, the local economy gets a pot of gold, but anyone living south of the railroad tracks during Scrapin’/Cruisin’/spring break deserves a portion of that pot for enduring unwelcome gridlocked traffic, 24-hour noise and trash.
Pushing values
Why should we let atheists dictate to Christians what’s on the license plate? I’m guessing there are more Christians in this state that are more than happy to see “In God We Trust.” Don’t let them push their values on the rest of us.
Loud music
Can anyone explain to me the value of loud music on a boat on our scenic rivers and bayous? I would think that one would visit a sandbar to enjoy the natural beauty and sounds. However, if you go there blaring Megadeth, anything attractive is going to run or fly away from you.
