Sound Off for Oct. 2, 2020
Your choice
President Trump is committed to the American people and puts them first. Biden is on his third run for president and in 47 years in Washington, D.C., he’s promised gold and delivered coal for Christmas.
Easy lesson
In kindergarten, children are taught to take turns and not to talk when someone else is speaking. Why hasn’t Trump learned that? He is certainly old enough.
Debate takeaway
The debates confirmed one thing. Our nation is in deep trouble. The sell-out Socialist Biden is not capable of producing a single idea that demonstrates strategic recovery, leadership skills or protecting a great nation. We had the Obama/Biden package for eight years and we have had Trump for less than four. Do the math. Socialists will redistribute misery, take your money and rewrite a Constitution that is short on personal freedom.
Other factors
This is directed to the “One Take” Sound Off comparing Mississippi to Oregon in COVID-19 death rates. The incidence of obesity, diabetes and other diseases associated with the high obesity rate in our state is a huge factor in morbidity rates. Our state is not healthy, unfortunately.
Bad omen
This past weekend, lots of people were congregated on the beachfront on restaurant row (The Reef to Slap Ya Momma’s) in Biloxi. None were wearing masks and most were not social distancing. This does not bode well for the Cruisin’ the Coast outdoor events. Why doesn’t the Biloxi Police Department ask these crowds to disperse when these situations arise?
Bad decision?
Make no mistake the governor sold lives for a week of Cruisers. The timing couldn’t make it clearer. Two weeks from now when COVID explodes again ... some will die over the following weeks and he’ll make masks mandatory again.
Debate fun
I found the debate just plain good fun entertainment. Loved watching Biden stumbling around trying to recall his memorized talking points or that he was taught to point his two index fingers at the camera, and listen for instructions in his ear piece. No substance at all, just nonsense.
Biased media
This is to “biased media.” The only thing the media is doing is reporting Trump’s statements and actions. Those things speak for themselves.
Tax cut?
I read in the newspaper where the state is making extra money from the lottery and scratch off tickets. I guess that means another tax cut for the rich.
