Sound Off for Sept. 27, 2020
Re: Law enforcement
A recent Sound Off commented about underage kids in Bay St. Louis, driving golf carts at excessive speed and with no seat belts, etc. Well, it’s just as bad in Long Beach. I walk a neighborhood off Pineville Road almost daily and see much the same. They are not young adults; they are children and I love these kids but a tragedy is bound to happen. A drive by of patrol car in the late afternoon may help.
Cone of uncertainty
Just spoke to a brain surgeon. His thoughts were anytime a hurricane is projected to be in the northern Gulf of Mexico might be a good idea to move the boat to safe harbor to save the boat and the increased costs of insurance from filing claims. His thoughts were you never know for sure where a hurricane might hit with the cone of uncertainty in predicting landfall.
A little flag
Why worry about the little flag that is in George County. They said they would retire their flag when it was worn or replaced by the new design. Their action shows that they intend to do that. The Country is falling apart and stirrers are worried about what constitutes a State building and a County Maintenance Barn.
Give him an A
It is Trump who called the virus a hoax, declined to wear a mask most of the time and made fun of people who did, and did not get a national program in place to get protective gear to even the health care workers. He made up the lie that it was all up to the governors which forced them to bid against each other. When asked about the 200,000 dead he refused to respond. He is holding rallies with no mask or social distancing requirements.
You get a D
I give President Trump an A. He acted as quickly as he could under extensive criticism. He tried his best to keep everyone calm while his critics acted irrational. The ultimate responsibility falls on the American people to keep themselves aware of facts and act safely toward their fellow citizens. So the American people gets a D-.
