Sound Off for Sept. 24, 2020
It’s a miracle
Folks, if you read Wednesday’s paper you witnessed a miracle. There was not one Sound Off about COVID-19 or masks.
Recipe for disaster
Jackson County officials ignoring CDC guidelines. From Sun Herald, “No one has been required to stay home due to possible exposure to someone who tested positive for the virus. ... The CDC recommends that people who have been exposed to the virus stay home from school and monitor their health.”
Politicians
Here’s a small word of advice to city leaders. If you have a city employee answer your emails for you, make sure the employee can put a coherent sentence together with adequate punctuation and grammar. Otherwise you look like a fool.
Biloxi
I have called the City of Biloxi four times in the last few weeks to speak to the mayor. Each time I was told he was on the phone. Each time I left my name and number and was told he would call back. I have not received a single return call. The implications are clear.
Elementary
Drove past an elementary school in D’Iberville yesterday. Children out playing on the playground in big groups and saw only two masks. I do not believe we should be tempting fate when it concerns children’s lives.
Yard sign theft
To the infantile person that keeps stealing my yard signs: Not only does the campaign of the person I’m voting for make a profit from the sale of each yard sign, but also I donate another $25 to that campaign. So, keep it up; you’re helping my guy.
I give him a D-
We have less than 5% of the world’s population yet we have more than 20% of the deaths due to COVID. Yet our president grades his handling of the virus as an A+. I don’t think so.
True lies
I have pity for the poor liberal that bashes Trump for what he said and what he thought about COVID many months ago. If he believed his statements to be true as did others, then it becomes a difference of opinion. Not an impeachable offense.
