Sound Off for Sept. 22, 2020
Complainers
Why are you people against the aquarium in Gulfport? I bet if it was in Biloxi, Ocean Springs,or anywhere else you’d all be giddy. You are the same hypocrites that keep wanting family things to do but when we get something you moan and groan and complain.
Mike Espy
Mike Espy was not “...removed from office by his president for misconduct.” He resigned. Indeed, he was eventually indicted by an ‘independent counsel’. And, guess what, he was acquitted of all charges. If you’re going to disparage someone get your darn facts straight!
Come on down
All these demands for canceling Cruisin’ are poppycock. Cruising in a convertible is perfectly safe. All other Cruisers must wear masks. Hotels and restaurants, you’re on your own. Woody Bailey does need to cancel the big thing at the Coliseum — that’s just common sense. Come on down, Cruisers.
Missing congressman
Roll Call noted that there were seven votes taken in Congress for the week ended Sept. 18. Our congressman did not vote on any of these issues. Where is he and what is he doing?
Appalling
I have noticed that a number of businesses and even our main post office on Mississippi 49 in Gulfport have not lowered the flag to half mast as ordered by the governor out of respect for the passing of RBG. It clearly states that it should remain so until internment. As a veteran I find that appalling.
Polarization
Used to be you could high-five another fan when your team scored without concern for race, religion or political party. The great American unifier is getting destroyed.
Be counted
If you have not completed the Census, you need to hurry. You can complete it online by going to 2020census.gov
Consistent rules
We need rules that all politicians have to follow, no matter what party has the majority. That’s what the people should demand.
