Sound Off for Sept. 19, 2020
Stop the madness
I am a Democrat living in Mississippi and it is one of the hardest things I have had to experience in my lifetime. I see poor political choices, poor education, lower salaries, lack of economic growth, lack of higher paying jobs, racism, and I could go on. Why do you keep voting for these people who are not advancing your communities? It doesn’t matter what party you are, it needs to be about progression for the good of your community.
A suggestion
Since no one likes the new flag design and no one knows where Mississippi is, I suggest the flag simply be printed with a “MS.” At least we know where we are.
An insane act?
Germany has canceled Oktoberfest. On Thursday, the Israeli government approved regulations for a three-week national lock down. In South Korea, restrictions tightened after a rise in coronavirus cases. Why increase the likelihood of community spread by allowing Cruisin’ the Coast? This is insane and irresponsible.
Blaming the media
Those that blame the media for telling the truth appear to be suffering from cognitive dissonance. How many Trump cronies have to gone to jail? How many times has Trump lied in the past 4 years? Wake up.
Bad trend
We have become a nation of people who like to sue. It seems not one thing can be decided without a lawsuit.
Question answered
The pier/walkway on Popp’s Ferry Causeway was buckled by Tropical Storm Cristobal back in early June.
Sound Off content
The Sound Offs on Thursday were full of incoherent messages about nothing. Can you at least publish comments with a clear subject and comments that support?
The right way?
“The state flag” Sound Off is right. By trusting in conservative religion and politics, Mississippi has become the healthiest, wealthiest, best educated, most respected state in the nation. Go conservatism.
