Sound Off for Sept. 17, 2020

A conspiracy?

We are beginning to see the constant printing of scandals by the media by anonymous and unknown sources against President Donald Trump. And none against Joe Biden.

The media, again

Anyone who listens to the news knows that every day until election day is an all out assault on the incumbent, ignoring all the accomplishments. A 47-year career politician isn’t the answer.

Media winners

So far, the best coverage of Hurricane Sally is on Fox News. Every time you look at the local news you get a 20-second commercial from a local car dealership.

Giving up

I’ve decided to end my own run of watching “Dancing With the Stars.” I’m not boycotting. Don’t have anything against the new hosts. Just, it’s gonna be a new show, old format, but new show. Some people will keep watching, some will turn to something different, and I’m sure they’re hoping a whole new crop of viewers will tune in. But, it is time for me to try something else the same as their producers did.

The state flag

I was looking at the new state flag and I started wondering. Do I trust in God and my religion? Or do I give in and trust in Joe Biden and the far left? I began to list all the similarities and contrasts, supernatural claims from each, the question of if God or Joe Biden really exist, that whole promises of miracles thing. In the end I decided it was better to throw in with God looking down from the heavens, than Joe trying to find his way up from the basement.

The vaccine

I’m pleased that a vaccine may be available in a few months. However, I am fearful of presidential pressures for development “before elections” and taxpayer dollars given to big pharmacy companies for an unproven vaccine. I’ll gladly wait for a proven vaccine and not one approved by a president.

A question

What happened to the pier on Popp’s Ferry causeway?
