Sound Off for Sept. 13, 2020
Close your eyes
To those of you who have given up watching professional sports, you don’t have to. When something comes up before or during the game you don’t like, just close your eyes just like you do for social justices.
Not a rally
The boo’s should tell NFL owners that the people who buy tickets expect to see a football game, not join a political rally.
Wear a mask
I was shocked to hear today that when a friend had taken his wife to the ER, they decided she needed to stay overnight, but did not have a room available. Instead, they are keeping her on a gurney in the hall. He cannot stay with his wife and she cannot have guests. She has not tested positive for COVID-19, but clearly the lower numbers you have reported have not made up for the shortage of hospital beds. More than anything, everyone needs to continue wearing masks. By keeping yourself safe you help keep everyone safe.
Crowds
Can’t believe bay St. Louis with the crowds Labor Day weekend. The mayor allows it. So much for leadership.
Dedeaux Road
Instead of spending all that money for an Airport Road extension, take it, get off your butts and complete Dedeaux Road, even if it’s just resurfacing the existing narrow two lanes, that was supposed to be done over 20 years ago. It would benefit a whole lot more citizens. But I guess action goes to where the money is.
Not a problem
First, I want to thank Anita Lee for keeping up with the Walkers. As I see it, Bill and his wife has a retirement of $16,000 a month. That comes to about $190,00 a year. Not too bad for retirement. It seems to me that it should not be a problem to pay $5,000 a month. The state should be able to come up with an automatic draw from his checking account. I just have one question? Is Bill receiving a retirement from the state of Mississippi? If so, the state should be able to withhold the retirement check, until all is paid back.
