Sound Off for Sept. 5, 2020

Golf carts and public roads

Add Ocean Springs to Diamondhead comments. It has gotten way out of hand, traffic is affected and safety is a major concern. Golf carts are for golf courses.

Safe way to cart

A properly equipped and city-licensed golf cart is an affordable alternative to expensive repairs to an aging car on low-speed-limit-streets. If unlicensed children are allowed to drive one outside safe zones, then the parents should be fined just as if they allowed the unlicensed children to drive a full-sized car.

Thanks!

To the flag committee who chose a new state flag with the Louisiana state flower on it, Louisiana thanks you!

Flag burning

I want to thank the Sun Herald for the front-page photo of the Commission’s pathetic choice for a state flag to vote on. I’ve never enjoyed burning something so much. Plus why would we accept a flag designed by someone living in ultra liberal San Francisco?

Vote no

The flag commission did a terrible job with selecting new proposed Mississippi flag. I would rather vote no and go without a flag for a year than accept this one.

Alligator strong

I have zero admiration for the killer but a lot for the alligator for surviving so long with all the killers hunting him. Small man, brave creature. Maybe next week the guy can go out and kill one of those terrible sailfish or marlin.

Restitution

The Walkers could solve their problem of inconsistent restitution payments by arranging an automatic electronic funds transfer (EFT) with the courts. No more missed payments!

Rhetoric

Gov. Reeves should focus on the health and welfare of poor Mississipians rather than spreading Trump conspiracy theories about Chinese labs. We have enough rhetoric coming out of Washington. Mask up.

Tate don’t get it

The damage you do by calling it the China virus is unforgiving. You are just following your leader. Think for yourself.
