Just a title

This argument that is going on about placing the statement “In God we trust” on our flag is ridiculous. Any individual with half a brain would know that the word “God” is a position title just like the words “king or president or governor or cardinal.” The word “God” could refer to any religion, after all every religion has a “GOD” don’t they?

Doesn’t matter

Enough with the flag controversy. A state flag means nothing. One pledges allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, not the state flag. Let us be the first without a state flag; save expense and time. Can anyone name one critical reason to have a state flag?

Dear ‘Your Comfort’

FYI, not everyone is able to wear a mask. like me. I don’t wear one and won’t wear one, and it’s none of your business why I don’t. I social distance. If you don’t like that, tough cookies. I have a right to breathe normally. This pandemic will be over on Nov. 4 anyway. And I hope when fly season rolls around again, you and all the other mask Nazis better be wearing them.

Wear it right

To those who wear their masks below their noses, or, worse, below their mouths, you look stupid. Why don’t you just leave your mask at home? Better yet, why don’t you just stay home altogether?

Informing the public

There was a vote recently on the MS Power Franchise Agreement. City officials and the media dropped the ball on informing the public about the need for the vote. Citizens were asked to vote with inadequate information. What would a city give up with a 3% rebate compared to the 2% rebate? If there is no difference in city obligations, why bother with a vote? Let’s try to do better.

Balloons kill

Again, I see on the local news that there was a balloon release to remember a lost soul. Please people, stop releasing balloons so that they can later float back down to kill unsuspecting wildlife. Balloons are the worst kind of littering, killing all kinds of our local turtles, water fowl and fish. Not to mention, littering is illegal!
