Sound Off for Aug. 23, 2020

Enough

I wish folks would leave Bill Walker alone. I don’t know the gentleman, but his formally good name has been run through the mud long enough, in addition to serving jail time. There are more pressing things to worry about right now. Move on.

Walkers

Bill Walker knowingly took hundreds of thousands of dollars of taxpayers’ money to help his son, friends and himself. Let’s not forget about DMR employee Michaela Hill’s death. Hopefully Judge Starret will do the right thing and send them both back to prison and force the sale of all their assets.

Rules required

Cruisin’ is great for the economy. And I’m glad someone attended a similar event where masks were used. I’d be in total support if that were to happen for Cruisin’. Unfortunately previous events down here have shown there is a tendency to not only shun them but to brag about it as well.

Novel idea

I am a Christian and don’t need a flag to tell people that I trust in God. My actions say that, love, respect, equality, kindness, etc. More importantly, God knows whether or not you trust in him. The government should never be telling citizens anything about religion period.

A name, not a belief

Putting religious names on government symbols is a violation of separation of church and state. Everyone defending it pretends it says in Allah we trust. What if said in Satan we trust? That’s why a government should not show favoritism toward any religious name. And it should be removed from money and shouldn’t be our national motto. Funny it was changed in 1956. It was E pluribus unum. Not the words of our founding fathers who remembered forced religion well.

No cash

Was told by an employee at Walmart that cash is not accepted at the self checkouts because of the coin shortage. Really?

Camping?

Could someone find out why the campsite is still closed at Gulf Islands? Rent only odd or even numbered slots. If a school is safe a campground should be.
