Where’s Mississippi?

So we are forced to vote on a flag that doesn’t even say Mississippi on it? There’s only one that shows the state image. The flag committee failed! I’m not surprised. At least we’ll be number one on the list of the worst state flags. We had a chance to do it right. You blew it!

No shield

I feel the new flag representing the state of Mississippi should be recognized right away as the Mississippi state flag. That is why I think that the flag with the western state outline, the Mississippi River depiction and the Magnolia in the center, encircled by stars and “IN GOD WE TRUST” screams Mississippi state flag to me! The one with the shield does not bring anything to my mind.

Fear mongering

Facebook is the bane of our existence. Note the zealot who spread false rumors about Black militia and antifa coming to make trouble in Picayune after Willie Jones went missing. Here’s a definition for you: “A person is guilty of inciting to riot when one urges ten or more persons to engage in tumultuous and violent conduct of a kind likely to create public alarm.” Inciting a riot is a misdemeanor offense that is punishable by extensive fines and up to a year in county jail. The sender of that message had better be very thankful that no real riot developed.

Divided nation

I really feel like majority of the problems our nation is having today is caused by the media. Everything that is spoken today Has to be black and white. It’s time for a little gray!

Sidewalk

It would be nice if Gulfport would have a nice sidewalk along scenic drive in East Gulfport. There is some, but it is hit and miss. Most of time people have to walk in street dodging vehicles.

Delivery delays

It’s true. Post Office delivery has slowed. Every bill I mailed was delivered on time except for this month. On Aug. 3, I mailed a payment to be delivered by Aug 6. It was not delivered ’til Aug 11. I believe our postal workers do a great job when allowed. Late deliveries may affect everyone if late payment charges are charged. Could the unintended consequences affect you?
