Sound Off for Aug. 14, 2020

Thanks for keeping the public informed about the Walkers. It’s ridiculous that they have not been forced to make full restitution!
Above the law
Once again Bill and Scott Walker feel they are above the law. Crimes were committed and restitution was ordered, yet they continue to ignore the court ruling. They should serve time in prison until they are no longer in arrears. Thank you, Sun Herald for following this case.
Withholding?
Why can’t the state withhold money from Bill Walker’s retirements to pay for his crimes? Paying Mississippi taxpayer money to a man who stole money from a Mississippi department! Really?
Great Americans
You should have put the obituaries of Lt.Col. Tremmel and R. Adm. McCardell on the front page today. Two true heroes and much more worthy of recognition than our ineffective state politicos. Did you notice both men started out as enlisted and worked their way up?
Knows better?
Any 13-year-old knows not to point a gun and pull the trigger. The real problems here are, where are the parents, why was a loaded gun accessible, and why he thought it OK to point it at another child and pull the trigger?
Cancel Cruisin’
I’m glad that a writer mentioned Cruisin’ the Coast. Now is the time to cancel this event if not already done so. If our community leaders allow Cruisin’ to take place during COVID, all Coast residents need to join together in protest. Shame on anyone even considering having this event during COVID. It’s not about money, it’s about saving lives.
Crowded classrooms
Dr. Dobbs said classrooms may not allow for social distancing. Please request the superintendents send you a count of all classes that are above, you pick a number, for the entire day of school. As a high school teacher, you’ll be shocked with what you discover. 33 in a room is a bit much!
Flag vote
I think that could not be a more fitting flag that gives an accurate view of Mississippi than the mosquito flag.
