Children crossing

I pray that highway 90 traffic can be slowed down in front of the aquarium. Children crossing four lanes of speeding traffic is not safe. There is a traffic signal, but children will take the shortest route to crossover to the park. The highway from 20th Avenue to 23rd Avenue should have flashing lights like a school zone.

US 90 speedway

You would think you were on the Autoban in Germany for the speeds on the 90. I go to work from Long Beach to 33rd St. and then to the Navy Base. Doing 45 mph, you have to watch your rearview mirror to prevent being rear ended or the driver that wants to crawl into your trunk. Yes, I know the police departments are understaffed, underpaid and overworked, and having been a police officer in a large metro city in Southern California, I know what I speak of. Add to the fact, that during rain days, many but not all drivers have their headlights on.

No distancing

We ordered takeout from a restaurant in Gulfport last week. Have eaten there many times. When I got there, I noticed a lot of tables and barstools stacked under the building, where handicap parking is. I thought it was to help with social distancing. Wrong! It was so more people could jam in. It was unbelievable how crowded. This is beyond out of control. Who is supposed to be enforcing the 50% occupancy on restaurants?

It’s on you

Many businesses are not adhering to the mask mandate. All employees are mandated to wear masks and also require patrons to wear masks when shopping. Do your part and avoid another shutdown.

2 + 1 = truth

In the firestorm of controversy swirling between the City of Ocean Springs and the Friends of the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center, please remember this. In any situation, there are three sides. Your side. Their side. And the truth. Hopefully the truth, in this case, will soon be revealed.

Go on strike

School teachers should go on strike to force Governor Reeves to push school start date back until after Labor Day to give us time to lower the curve on COVID.
