The whole story

The whole story on Ocean Springs severing ties with Friends of the Mary C. is what was in the paper since it was a closed-door meeting and citizens weren’t informed. I as a citizen am very upset. The city seems to be removing many services. Time for new aldermen. I would also like to see more control over development to maintain the feel of the city.

To Friends of the Mary C., since Ocean Springs doesn’t appreciate what you do for the broader community, please, please move to Gulfport. We love you!

Absentee ballot

As a lifetime 81-year-old resident of Mississippi, I am dismayed to learn that an absentee ballot will require a notary signature. I must venture out after following recommendations to shelter in place since March?

Gulfport trash

Gulfport residents pay close to $17 a month for trash pickup. The services for limb and debris is terrible. In our neighborhood we haven’t had any pickup for weeks. Numerous work orders have been called in with no luck. Please, city officials, help us solve this problem as we continue to pay for services not received.

Not a violation

To all of the citizens of this great nation that claim wearing a mask during this pandemic please read the preamble to said Constitution: “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” Insure domestic tranquility, promote the general welfare, that pretty much negates your argument.

No fraud

There is no evidence supporting the claim of rampant fraud with mail-in ballots. A committee to investigate this claim was formed early in the Trump administration. It was disbanded after a few months due to lack of evidence. Some years ago, a billion mail-in ballots were examined and 31 were found to be fraudulent — far from rampant. Just another of Trump’s unfounded accusations.
