Sound Off for July 18, 2020
Toe to toe
I’ll tell you what Mr. COVID-19. I am tired of your bullying ways. I am near 80 yrs old, and I am tired of not being able to visit my family or friends for fear of meeting you, or of you meeting my family through me. So I have decided to take off the gloves, but I’ll leave the mask and meet you anytime anyplace and we can go toe to toe and let the best man or bug win.
Distancing at Walmart
I, too was “herded” through the corral with my face mask on. What I see is other people getting past the face mask police only to get into the store and slide them down under their chin. I know masks are not the whole answer, but it is a step in the right direction. If you don’t like shopping with a mask on properly, do online shopping pick up.
Plain dumb
With corona running rampant, the Coliseum has decided to let a scheduled concert take place this weekend. Mr. Coliseum director, you are not smarter than a 5th grader.
Negligence?
The Coliseum wants to have a concert? Are you kidding me? That’s a stupid and negligent decision. If someone goes to the concert, gets sick and then passes it to me at work, can I sue them and the Coliseum?
Drive-thru stores
It’s time for drive-thru convenience stores. We had those beer barns years ago down here. Not saying we need those, but something similar but no beer, things we run into the dollar store. Stay in your car. The worker(s) gets everything for you. I think it will work.
Any doubt?
With so many COVID-19 cases in the state Legislature, do you think the government would realize how serious this is? Obviously not! Maybe the local officials need to step up in the areas not covered under the mask mandate. Or would it be better to wait until it is so serious as to go back into all non-essential business closed? It is a choice that will be costly if the wrong decision is made.
Wild herds only
Herd immunity is for wild herds where they just die and the thinner herd moves on. People that have valuable herds of animals don’t use herd immunity, they vaccinate and isolate. People are valuable and herd immunity is a stupid solution!
