Looking for leadership

Our legislators have three years before the next election. Now is the time for our legislators to remove the state flag with the confederate canon. A referendum or the so called two flag solution is the cowards’ way out. Step up to the plate and do your jobs!

Celebrate positivity

I was born and raised in Mississippi. Never once have I looked at our state flag and felt superior to anyone. Is there racism here? Yes, and absolutely everywhere else on this planet. It is an unfortunate characteristic of human nature. I believe that we here, particularly on the coast have gotten along well. Let’s celebrate the positive and build on that.

Denial

If you give someone COVID-19 and you don’t know it and they die, did they really die?

No vote

If left to a vote, would segregation have ended in Mississippi? It’s time for our elected officials to do what’s right and get rid of the state flag. (From an old white guy)

No mask

Sounds like Gov. Reeves has learned the “Trump dodge.” A reporter asked why he didn’t cover his mouth and nose at a crowded funeral. He admitted he should have used a mask, then said “If y’all want to shame me for the way in which I handled it — go for it. That’s part of your job. But I will not apologize for attending this funeral for this slain law enforcement officer.” Huh?

Essential

As a U.S. Postal Service employee, I have worked everyday as an essential employee since the epidemic began. Why are state ID and driver’s license stations not considered essential? Why are state and city offices not essential? If not essential, let’s save taxpayers dollars and get rid of these positions.

No comparison

Wow, just watched Brett Favre compare the actions of Colin Kaepernick to the ultimate sacrifice paid by Pat Tillman. Sorry Brett, but you just joined the list of great ones who have recently destroyed their legacy.
