Poor choice

I believe that the reason our state did not choose a new state flag in 2001 is because the flag choices were all ugly. It was not all because of racism. If we would be given the choice of the Stennis flag, which is a very pretty flag ... I feel that it would be voted in.

Help from dogs

K-9’s to the rescue. To alleviate altercations between police officers and suspects, we should equip all patrol officers on foot and in cars with a trained K-9. Instead of officers chasing a suspect on foot, they can release their K-9.

How to help

This is in response to the opinion letter about where best to voice concerns about issues. We already have a place. It is called your Civic Group. They meet monthly open and it is open to the community. The problem is attendance, so you are welcome to attend and offer solutions.

What joy?

Can someone please explain what joy is derived from driving through a quiet neighborhood with windows down and radio blasting at maximum volume? Does the driver realize how utterly stupid he looks with his bobbing head and lip syncing?

Simple solution

My suggestion regarding the state flag is to remove all state flags and fly only the American flag. One nation.

Further away

Extreme measures only divide us further. Calling for the cancellation of a popular TV show just because it typically shows police officers in a good light and dismissing a philanthropist NFL QB for expressing his respect for the American flag will only drive rational people further away from the Black Lives Matter movement, not towards it.
