Beauty needed

Concerned citizens are requesting the Gulfport beautification team observe the area located between 17th Street and Reed Avenue, in front of the William Bell Apartments. Those of us who travel and live nearby have observed its dirty, deplorable state for an extended time. Is this area included in the team’s scheduled cleanup? We are requesting the beautification team give this area attention and make improvements; if the team is unable to do the cleanup, we request they notify the individual(s) who can do so.

Noise pollution

Any candidate who will ban the ridiculously loud, offensive booming music emitting from vehicles has my vote! Oh & not just ban but make a mandatory sentence and make sure every jurisdiction strictly enforces it. It’s ludicrous to sit in my house or sit in my car at a red light & feel vibrations from and be subjected to this noise pollution!

Drag race

No need to go out Canal Road to Coast Drag Strip. Just pull-up a chair along Highway 90 between Hewes Avenue and Gulf Avenue every weekday morning and afternoon. No admission. Lots of cars and trucks running easy 65 at Gulf Avenue.

Taking a toll

My sister who works at a local home improvement store called me in great distress because of the inconsiderate customers at her work. She said they came in with no masks, would not keep their distance and were rude when asked to do so. She needs the job but the stress is taking a toll on her. The fear of bringing the virus home to her family is ever present. Why do so many people not respect their fellow Americans enough to wear masks when they enter a store or at least keep a distance from the employees?

Second wave

Ok, fast forward to the day when Dr. Fauci and the media declare it is safe to resume a normal life. Off come the masks, you can gather as you see fit and all of the restaurants and bars are operating at full capacity. There are literally millions of people still carrying the coronavirus. There are people that still have compromised immune systems. The inevitable result will be another outbreak. Can someone please explain to me how this isolation will help people build antibodies to keep this from happening again?
