Sound Off for May 23, 2020
Fall optimism
If the schools open this fall you will hear an earth-shaking cheer as the moms are in the yard cheering on opening morning.
Required
Walmart should take a lesson from Costco. No mask no shopping.
Voting
How will making it easier to vote lead to fraud? A record is kept of each name. Investigations have not supported claims of voter fraud. We should be worried about the ones who tally the votes.
Coming election
Who at the state level is working on plans to have an orderly election in November if this virus explodes when schools reopened?
No distancing
The restaurants on the beach in Bay St. Louis had a great Saturday crowd. Unfortunately, none of the social distancing guidelines were followed. People were shoulder-to-shoulder eating and drinking. Cars were parked from Our Lady of the Gulf to Bay View Court with only a handful from MS and most from LA and TX! Only one person seen wearing a mask. Please stay safe over this holiday weekend. With the casinos opening there will be even move out of state people in our area. Good for business only if we do not get shut down again!
No burning
What part of burn ban do you lunatics not understand? I drove home Wednesday night on Freddy Frank Road and smoke was everywhere. I got to Kiln-DeLisle Road and smoke was everywhere, a giant plume coming from northern Harrison County. The term “ban“ is absolute.
Ban smoking
The 80% of the population who don’t smoke should unite and refuse to go to places that allow smoking inside.
Real numbers
You’ve heard the cliche you can make numbers say whatever you’d like. A Florida statistician was fired because she refused to manipulate actual numbers of virus deaths to support president’s early reopening of economy. Seems it’s the CDC scientists versus politicians. Sounds very similar to the under reporting of deaths during the Vietnam war.
Why we mask
If the hospital is full and you need a ventilator, you die. That is why we mask.
