Sound Off for May 11, 2020
Forcing forced choices
To “Forced choices,” running around during a plague without a mask is forcing your choice to spread disease on all of us, isn’t it? I’m OK with you risking your health, but telling folks to “avoid you” is risking my health, the health of our first responders, medical professionals and elderly. How can you be so selfish and ill-informed?
Armed and dangerous
I see you not wearing the mask and only caring about yourself. You are also the one that does not respect my right to distance myself from you because you make it a point to advance toward me with your disregard for my right! You are so caught up in your rights that you disrespect minet. I look at you with the fear that you are armed and dangerous. My wife and I have to go get food and we have no one to do it for us so we are forced to deal with you, who only cares about yourself!
Live free?
I’m confused, recent protesters carrying signs that say”live free or die,” should change the sign to say “live free and die.”
Taking our chances
Your right to not wear a mask ends when you are around me or my loved ones. Masks are worn to protect others from the infected. You don’t have the right to “take a chance” with our lives.
Where to buy masks
For those of you asking where to get fabric masks. The Farmers Market at Long Beach on the Town Green has them every Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. They are made by Poppe’s Kitchen. You can also place an order through their Faceboo page.
Worth a thousand words
Seeing the picture of people gathered closely with no mask with their kids was disheartening to see. They are risking getting infected just to prove what? The freedom to infect the world with a virus that has killed millions?
Embarrassing
The people saying they are confined to their home need to stop. You can go shop. You can go to the liquor store. You are starting to sound stupid. This has shown the stupidity of the American people. Totally embarrassing... Ocean Springs needs a new mayor!
