Have a nice day

I seems when we are facing a difficult time together, people extend greater kindness toward their neighbor is several ways. One I have noticed is in the Starbucks drive-thru line where customers often pay the bill for the person in the car behind them. This is simply a way to say, “ I hope you have a nice day.” This has happened to me four times and I have gladly paid it forward. It makes the gift giver feel as good as the recipient.

Drama?

Why is it the national and state coronavirus total is added to every day? Makes it sound like no one ever gets well. If it last about two weeks, why don’t they subtract soon from the total each week too, so we could get a more realistic idea of those who are still sick? Sounds like they want to over-dramatize.

Sold out to China

I recently read the United States did not get mask and ventilators soon enough because of the tariffs on China by President Trump. America needs to wake up! We would not need China’s inferior products like our medicines if we manufactured our own. Bill Clinton sold us out to China. America is no longer the greatest nation and this COVID-19 virus proves it!

Math flaw

To “Perspective,” I guarantee there are way more people infected who have not been tested. The flaw in your math is that only about 52,000 of the almost 3 million Mississippians have been tested. Of that, 5,000 have tested positive and 200 have died. I don’t want my loved ones to be included in either those figures.

Sure of it

I live alone with my pets. I have self quarantined and followed all the rules for 5 weeks now. I know I’m not sick. Why should I wear a mask to the grocery store? (I only go once every 2 weeks). I have no germs to spread, I’m sure of it.

If only

If only we had taken the virus seriously — when it was still in China! If only we had started gathering testing kits and equipment doctors and nurses would need to fight the virus — when it was in: Korea, Iran, Italy and Spain. There was still time for states to gather kits —and protective gear to keep doctors and nurses safe -- before the first cruise ship landed. It could all been so different.
