Sound Off for April 25, 2020
Mask priority
Since stores are not going to make customers wear masks, at least, when customers are waiting in line to get in, those with maskers should be able to move to the head of the line. Maybe that would encourage people to wear a mask. Oh, you don’t have a mask? Find something to use as a face covering. Got a scarf to wrap around your mouth and nose? You can even make a mask out of a coffee filter. Come on folks and make an effort.
Don’t take the fam
One person per family should be doing the shopping at Walmart, yet the aisles are clogged with groups of 3 and 4 people. Creating crowded, virus spreading conditions. I know people are bored, but tagging along “for something to do” endangers everyone. Please, if you don’t have to go in, then stay out.
Flood insurance
Why has the cost of flood insurance been allowed to spiral upward out of seeming control? In 11 years, in at least one case, from $400 per year to now $24,000 per year or a ridiculous 6,000% increase.
COVID babies
I can’t help but wondering, Will we have a world wide baby boom in 2021, and what effect will it cause if we do?
Normalcy and honesty
The United States needs to get back to work and starting some sort of normalcy. If you disapprove, you have the right to stay home. Please, restaurants clean and sanitize everything because we hope you will be opening soon. Isn’t it just like closed-minded people blaming the president. He had the economy up so good and this happened right at election year. He and the United States have to help people financially through no fault of his own. But God is going to intervene for the better. He does not like meanness and dishonesty.
Fiddled
On President Trump’s botched response to the novel coronavirus pandemic: Instead of listening to the experts early on, he fiddled like Nero while Rome burned.
So much winning?
We not only have the most corona virus cases in the world; we can add up the next four countries together and we still have more cases! Are we tired of all this winning yet?
