Sound Off for April 15, 2020
Show respect
I’m old and crusty and I knew days ago about the changes at the commissary as did my old and crusty friends. If I hadn’t known, I woulda probably just said “oh well, something to do tomorrow.” And the lowly “2nd lieutenants.” College grads serving their country you make them sound like disheveled hillbillies standing on the front porch with their shotguns guarding the moonshine for grandpappy. A worthless apology? What do you want, the secretary of the Air Force handing out coupons? Relax, get the news, and be respectful.
Once in a lifetime
We have a unique opportunity to make changes. The world has stopped and forced us slow down. Please take this time to re-evaluate your priorities. If everyone would do this, America could be great again. I hope you opt that family, friends and your fellow man are more important than money and politics. Let’s not blow it by going back to where we were. It wasn’t working. This is a once in a lifetime people.
Burglars
I feel sorry for the burglars who can’t steal because everyone’s at home now. Isn’t there something we can do for them?
Get with the program Pt. 2
Fully agree with “Get With The Program.” I’ll add once Reeves lifts the stay home “restrictions,” you can expect a full-on mass hysteria at the stores and even more spreading of the virus. I guarantee cases will increase drastically after April 30. People, you can’t wish this away or make it end on your timetable. It will take all of us to remain diligent to even begin to see light at the end of the tunnel. The longer people ignore, deny and refuse to adhere to the protocols of social distancing, the longer that will be.
Great time for road work
To the mayor and City of Gulfport, this is a long overdue message. Since moving here many years ago I have watched many improvements on Hwy 90, Seaway Road and even Dedeaux Road. Isn’t it time improvements to Pass Road were done? This is a major thoroughfare which leaves much to be desired, no sidewalks, businesses with overgrown bushes, grass etc. Please do something to upgrade. Pass Road in Biloxi looks much better.
