Sound Off for April 11, 2020

Your responsibility

So thankful to be walking the boardwalk on this beautiful late afternoon. Not thankful for the defecation from dogs which I am having to dodge. Please for the benefit of us who use the boardwalk for exercise or to assist in keeping our sanity at this time. Please Bring a bag, pick up after your pet.

Protect us

Louisiana visitors please wear masks when visiting Mississippi! all other CDC rules also! Thank you, our lives depend on you!

Still a problem

I guess I didn’t get the memo that professional panhandling in Ocean Springs is considered “essential.” I’m sure the usual suspects are now telling prospective monetary donors that they lost their jobs as a result of the current pandemic. Hopefully, the city’s officials and law enforcement wake up and begin patrolling the shopping centers, even if they are in absolute denial of the problem. Now, more than ever, is not the time for people to be approached by strangers.

History

April is designated Confederate History Month by Governor Reeves?! Seriously?

One goal

There wasn’t anything wrong with the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, which has been around for nearly 100 years, until President Trump suggested it might have some therapeutic benefit in treating COVID patients. Now, there appears to be an all-out media campaign to discourage its use and discredit any efficacy. Because it’s Trump. The goal is always to make him look bad.

Motivation

Do you realize that Trump is telling people to buy the untested coronavirus meds because his son-in-law’s brother is selling it?

Movie idea

I’m not a prophet, but I predict that in the near future a movie will come out entitled: “2020: The Year the Earth Stood Still!”

Essential work?

OK, it’s time to close Ingalls Shipyard. There are too many COVID-19 cases there and they are putting everyone in jeopardy of spreading the virus to others. Clearly the cleaning isn’t working. They need to stay home! It’s not a joke! If the casinos can close, so can Ingalls.
