Make the call
When will they listen and judge for themselves? Moss Point mayor is making the right decisions. Mayor Billy Hewes of Gulfport and Mayor “Fofo” Gilich of Biloxi need to open their eyes and make decisions for their people who elected them to make a stay at home call during this critical time.
Virus madness
Harrison County put up signs along the beach this past weekend warning people who utilize the beach that they must observe “SOCIAL DISTANCING RECOMMENDED BY THE CDC” or be subject to up to 6 months in jail33. Will social distancing be strictly enforced in jail ? Take a moment to think about this.
OS Front Beach
Physical distancing does not exist on Ocean Springs Front Beach. Every day, but especially this past weekend, hundreds of mainly young folks are gathered there. Groups of as many as 25-30 sharing beers and cigarettes, etc. License plates are from many different states. These are the folks who will get the coronavirus and most will not have a problem themselves, but they will infect many others including those most vulnerable. The beach is a great place for exercise, sunshine and relaxation, but this is out of hand.
Not distancing
On Sunday, I took a drive to get out of the house, staying in my car and away from others. I stopped at the Biloxi Lighthouse for a few minutes to enjoy the view. I noticed a group of people gathered around one of the benches. At that point, a police officer drove up, got out of his vehicle, and began patrolling the area on foot. One of the gentlemen at the bench approached the officer and they began a friendly conversation about a puppy he was carrying on his shoulder, the entire time standing about 2 feet apart. After conversing, they shook hands and parted company.
Slush fund
The joke would have been on Trumpites if Pelosi had not forced McConnell to add oversight to the $600B corporate slush fund and benefits for the rest of us. FYI: Pelosi had arranged unanimous consent to save time and personal contact among House members, but Thomas Massie (R-KY) delayed the vote another day by forcing them to fly back because he demanded a recorded vote.
