Sound Off for March 30, 2020

Stop flying

Why does congress fly to D.C. to vote on a matter of public record? Vote and verify remotely with public oversight, it’s called the Internet. Contact a third grader for assistance.

No barriers

Why are Florida and South Carolina quarantining Louisiana people and we in Mississippi are letting everyone into our state for the sake of money. What is our governor thinking? This can explode and Mississippi residents will be the victims. Shame on Gov. Reeves.

Joke

Pelosi is such a joke saying people are dying while the president fiddles. Isn’t she the head of the party that delayed the stimulus package by forcing “arts,” illegal immigrants and abortion be included? She has her own agenda and it doesn’t include helping the American people.

Weak leadership

During this time of uncertainty we need strong leaders, and from what I hear so far coming out of Jackson, I am concerned. I sure miss Haley Barbour.

Ranking governors

A respected political science professor at Northwestern University, Alvin Tillery Jr., said, “ ‘two governors who placed their partisan allegiances and or anti-intellectualism above the safety and welfare of their constituents,’ Tillary said. They are DeSantis and Tate Reeves of Mississippi.”

A disappointed visitor

I think that it is very sad and selfish Ocean Springs’ Front Beach remains open and crowded when other people are making sacrifices to keep the community safe. It does not speak well for your community leaders.

Get what you need

I had to leave my home to pick up prescriptions. I passed several grocery stores and was shocked to see that the parking lots were slap full! If there is not some sort of control instituted on the the grocery stores in regard to social distancing this virus will continue! What’s wrong with y’all? Stay at home and only get what you need!
