Sound Off for March 25, 2020
Beyond ‘sit and wait’
Kudos to all the casinos who are paying their employees for two weeks during the shut down. Thanks to Scarlet Pearl, Treasure Bay and others who took the lead. Kudos to the Harrison County law enforcement officials for taking the COVID-19 crisis seriously and looking out for the citizens. Shame to IP, Hard Rock and other casinos who chose to turn their backs on their employees. The Gulf Coast people will remember your actions. Shame to Harrison County Board of Supervisors for taking COVID-19 so lightly. The citizens of the county will remember you for your lack of support for law enforcement and citizens.
Re-branding
Since technology now allows us to be very social over great distances, how about calling it temporary physical distancing instead? After all, humans require social interaction and are in fact dependent on being social for survival. Even the most determined isolationists bring with them a ton of tools and supplies created by society. Just such a negative term.
Gulf salinity?
The TV news show high/low tides times and levels and shows water salinity between 5-7, very low? No rain, river not diverted, why so low?
Insider trading
Set the record straight that the senators were given a private report on the virus and they took advantage of the insider information to dump their stocks. The next day the news broke and the stock tanked. Stop trying to change the tome line
No bread
No bread, no meat. People are hoarding, people are scared. Why? Because the media would rather destroy the economy and the country than let this president move us forward. Democrats own this!
Dim view
Early on, the usual suspects on Fox “News” downplayed the dangers of the rapidly spreading coronavirus, claiming it was a fake story pushed by Democrats and “leftist” media to hurt President Trump. After the seriousness of the virus spread could no longer be denied, they did a laughably quick about-face. If that doesn’t dim your view of Fox News, you are irretrievably lost.
