Sound Off for March 21, 2020
Me, me, me
I’m 72 years old with a heart problem and went to Win- Dixie to shop during the 8-9 a.m. seniors-only hour and saw two police officers outside, but when I got inside more than half the people were below 50. I asked an employee why they were allowed in and was told they couldn’t stop them. These inconsiderate people endangered us and since the shelves were nearly empty, were depriving us of needed food. Nice to know the me, me, me generation is alive and well.
Step up to the plate
Hey credit card companies! You get to borrow from fed at zero rate. Suspend my interest rates for the next 4 months. You still will make money. Help us living day to day because we are the one supporting your lifestyles!
Repeating the past?
Our ancestors frequently suffered with similar and often much worse epidemics. The SpanishfFlu epidemic of 1918-20 infected 500 million people, or about 27% of the world population. It was one of the deadliest epidemics in human history. Many of the same public steps we are taking now were imposed back then. Past epidemics and world wars have not destroyed America. As our ancestors did, we must man up, do the right thing and endure.
Insider trading
U.S. senators Richard Burr and Dianne Feinstein and others like them on Capitol Hill must be investigated by the SEC, the Justice Department, the Treasury Department and congressional watchdogs for insider trading and benefiting from their positions. They sold millions of dollars worth of selective stocks just days before the coronavirus story broke because they had special access to intelligence information in their committee assignments.
Lucky
We should feel lucky to be able to have those cruise ships here. Those ships could help save lives in the case we need many hospital beds.
Give it up
No rational person is full of any real concern for the two morons stuck in Peru or their whining and begging for help getting home. They are there of their own doing, they have shelter, food, water, and are safe. They need to sit back and embrace their mistake so our people can focus energies on problems here.
