Sound Off for March 14, 2020
Strong values
I voted for Palazzo because he has strongly supported the conservative values of the Gulf Coast’s majority in Washington. That is why we sent him there. A town hall meeting “puppet show” is not necessary. The telephone town halls allow more people to provide an input.
Safety net
Republicans “pick yourself up by your bootstraps” does not work with this virus situation. The working poor are going to be devastated when they lose their jobs due to the virus. How will they pay their rent or buy groceries? They have saved nothing because the minimum wage does not allow for savings after the bills are paid.
Nothing right
President Trump can do nothing right according to the liberal talking heads on left-leaning media outlets! Clear evidence was last night immediately after the president’s primetime speech. Liberal thought has always been to “never waste a crisis” when it comes to pounding your opponent. Shameful in a time when we need to pull together as a country.
Altercation
If you put your hands on your partner during an altercation, it’s not a “heated argument.” It’s an assault. If your partner has marks made by you on them after an altercation, it’s not a “heated argument”. It’s an assault.
Can’t make it up
I heard the MEMA joint COVID-19 news conference and heard only 40+ tests had been done in the whole state. Their advice was to stay away from crowds of 250+ and don’t travel to known areas of active cases of the pandemic. Good advice especially for parents — but wait — after the news conference it was divulged that Gov. Reeves had taken his family including his girls to Europe and would be able to get back to the US before Trump’s closing the borders.
At risk?
Everything we have read and been told about COVID-19 says patients can be highly contagious prior to being symptomatic. Dr. Stephen Ferrell of Forrest County Hospital told us passengers at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport who were exposed to the Forrest County man did not put those other passengers at risk. Who is right, this one doctor, or every authority we have heard from since the beginning of this pandemic?
