Prison crisis

The three principles of corrections are care, custody and control. Of these, control is paramount. Without it, care can’t be provided and custody can’t be maintained. Just look at Parchman. Tate is searching for a new director for the Dept of Corrections. Waste of time. With a 17 to 1 prisoner/guard ratio, control will never be achieved. Tater should bite the bullet now and pay up. Raise salaries and increase staff. Regaining control of the prisons is going to be a long, hard fight.

Gulfport leaders

Clear & undeniable evidence of just how much our leaders care about our city is Hewes Avenue, the official route to the airport. Littered with debris, vacant abandoned buildings, overgrown lots, nothing says Welcome to Gulfport like this drive does!

Where is the money?

Can anyone explain to me what happened to the 14 million $ that disappeared from the city of Pascagoula? The only answer I get is it’s complicated. Well it’s not complicated if it was an accounting error and the $ is still there I should be reimbursed for the tax increase and my taxes lowered. If the $ was stolen, is there an ongoing investigation? Will anyone be held responsible?

Chill out

HIV has infected more than 60 million and killed nearly 30 million people around the world. 600,000 people die of cancer every year. Coronavirus pales in comparison, which has infected about 81,000 people worldwide and been linked to over 2,700 deaths. Though we should remain vigilant, everybody needs to chill.

Treason

The top marine ordered the removal of the Confederate flag from all bases. Like it or not, it is a symbol of treason against the United States, and it belongs in a museum.

Beat the cans

Anyone going to a Houston Astros game should bring a small garbage can and some sticks. They could beat the heck out of the can while the Astros were at bat. That would really confuse those trying to steal signals!
