Light needed
At the intersection of Canal Road and Landon Road, widening of the intersection to put a left turn light is a much needed improvement. This is a must! Let’s not wait until we have a certain number of accidents, including deaths before we make this change. One can be turning to the left at this intersection and make traffic behind you cut off at the gas station and the ice station to get on to Canal Road. Sheriff cars sit here which is unnecessary — they are not out directing traffic, they are there keeping you from short-cutting. Let’s use our money to make the correct improvements.
Retirement pay
Luckily for some of the people embezzling millions from DHS, they are government employees. They will retire and be able to get a government retirement check. Like Walker, while in prison and for the rest of their life. Embezzle from any “private” company and there won’t be a retirement check. They should have to forfeit their retirement. This should be a law.
Flat rate water vote
Penalty flag and a request that journalists camp out on all the city council members’ doorsteps right away. The council had publicly indicated there would be a vote, but they would not and did not say when. As long as this issue has been going on there hasn’t been an adequate explanation of the exact problem. No information on why we have faulty meters or who is accountable for this problem. Now, there is a quick vote to set a flat fee. Unsatisfactory!
Past mistake
If all the Gulfport city councils would have left Public Service Commissioner Wayne Brown alone years ago, the port would have had its elevated “bridge” all the way from Interstate 10, with billions of dollars of jobs and developments like every other elevated exit off I-10 in the whole Southeast corridor! The mayor and council’s allegation it would be a dam on the west side is as factual as saying the present mayor and councilmen know how to run the Gulfport Water Dept.
Inconsiderate
My neighbor or their lawn service blew a tremendous amount of leaves from their yard into the street this morning. Really? Now as cars pass the leaves are strewn down the street into other people’s yards. What is wrong with people. Pick up your leaves like every one else does and dispose of them properly!
