Sound Off for Feb. 24, 2020

Comrade Bernie

Independent presidential candidate Bernie Sanders took exception when rival candidate Bloomberg called him a communist in the Nevada debates. He calls himself a Democratic socialist, which has historically been a cover term for communist at heart. His policies will require forced redistribution of wealth. He is full communist in political ideology.

Money wasted

Mike Bloomberg folded like a cheap suit during the Democratic debate in Las Vegas. Regardless of $500,000 spent already he was mud puddled and walked dry. The TV candidate failed miserably.

Unity?

The Democratic hate for President Trump spewed in the debates makes me wonder why I even listen. I voted for Trump and therefore feel like they are spewing this hate toward me. As a party who says they want to unite the country, they sure go about it in a very negative way. While Trump is certainly not the perfect man, he has done more to bring my country back to what I grew up with than any other president. I was once a Democrat.

Can’t buy victory

Either the Democratic presidential candidates are stupid, or they think the electorate is stupid, or both. An election cannot be bought in the United States of America. Regardless of how many ads Mr. Bloomberg purchases, he still has to come up with a platform and answers to hard questions to convince the people to vote for him. That is how elections are won.

Definitely believable

The economic trend that has prevailed since Trump took office began in 2010; the evident product of the recession-recovery act. Trump took office in 2017. His tenure has not affected that trend. This is a matter of record, not an opinion. Anyone with a computer can verify it.

Net loss

For Obama, in his first years U.S. gross domestic product had to first climb out of the 8.4% decline Bush left him — and then add on a 4.7% increase —resulting in a total growth of 13.1%. Trump’s GDP went from a 2% increase in late 2016 to a 2.1% gain in 2019 or a whopping 0.1 percentage increase. And Trump’s employment numbers grew from 2.5 million before he took office to 2.1 million in the last 12 months — that’s a loss of 405,000 jobs!
