Lost meaning?

Is it just me, or has the real meaning of Mardi Gras been lost? It is supposed to be the last opportunity to eat rich, fatty food before Ash Wednesday and the fast of Lent begins. I don’t think it was ever supposed to be a year-round-rich-persons holiday worshiping each other and drinking excessively and doing things you shouldn’t be doing under the umbrella excuse of, “well it’s Mardi Gras.”

The rationale?

What is the rationale for pardoning criminals who committed fraud, perjury, and corruption?

Just unbelievable

President Obama taking credit 11 years later for President Trump’s hyper-driven booming economy is just plain unbelievable. But not surprising. I say to you, President Obama that “you didn’t build that” and that your administration’s economic plan was “well, better get used to this economy, as it is the best we can do!” Trump 2020.

Wonder if

I wonder if seeing your house floating downstream would make climate change deniers consider the possibility that we are slowing destroying the Earth that we live on.

Eroding benefits

Military retirees earned a free medical care benefit, made good by a long-standing promise from our government for our long and faithful service. As any military retiree will tell you, this earned benefit has been changed and eroded over the years, forcing increasing out of pocket costs. And now that very care on military installations is being stopped for good. A broken promise. Not good. As for the VA, their policies change constantly but for the most part a veteran and/or military retiree must have a military service connected ailment or disability to be cared for.

Hard to believe

Today, on his radio show, Rush Limbaugh criticized Mike Bloomberg for using non-disclosure agreements in settlements of suits against him alleging sexual misconduct. He ranted and raged for 10 minutes about how horrible these agreements are but never once mentioned the king of using them, Donald Trump. Hypocrite.

Hold your tongue

Those joining the chorus attacking Attorney General Barr would do well to hold their tongues until the truth is reached, thereby possibly saving themselves the embarrassment of having defended a corrupt Department of Justice he is trying to clean up. Only then will we all see just who was trying to undermine the rule of law and democracy.
