Kindness appreciated

We had a wonderful experience today at the veteran’s cemetery. My friend and I (both old ladies) were trying to locate her recently deceased daughter’s grave in a new section there. Two gentlemen working there helped us locate the grave and then left us. When we were ready to walk back to the car, one of the workers appeared with a golf cart to give us a very much appreciated ride. How lucky for the cemetery to have angels on their staff. Thank you very much for your kindness. You truly brightened a sad day.

All our interests

I guess we will be seeing more accomplishments from Rep. Steven Palazzo and Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith. I do not vote Republican, but since they usually win, I root for the candidates who actually work in our interests, all four years, not just at election times.

Not a fan

Nothing gets my blood boiling faster than reading the divisive, “fish wrap” opinion pieces by the the so-called journalist Leonard Pitts. And yesterday was no exception. But most clear thinking Americans see him as he is. A liberal who gave the previous administration a pass on all things, but not President Trump. Pitts cannot even admit that Americans of all races and creeds are doing better economically these days. We continue to be a land of opportunity. Not a country of victims as Mr. Pitts would have it.

Over it

Trump is a con man who is setting us up to fail to line his own pockets. He is going after Medicaid, people on disability, and now stopping retirees from military hospitals and pharmacies. After the election ,his administration has said they will look to cut Social Security and Medicare. All of these he made campaign promises not to mess with. He will not get my vote. I am over the con game.

Medical care changes

All military retirees should be aware. There is a plan afoot to send you off base for all medical care to include on base pharmacy access. This is part of an older DOD medical cost saving plan to eventually care for only active duty military and families on base. Please refer to the latest military.com article. On base military retiree medical care is an earned benefit for 20+ years of faithful service during peace and war. Not to mention the impact on the civilian medical community, which would be overwhelming. I encourage every military retiree to contact their Congressional representatives and voice your displeasure.

The people voted

Recently, voters in Bay St. Louis overwhelmingly rejected a 2 percent food and hotel tax. Typical of their feelings, city leaders declared voters were ignorant of issues and will retry at a later date.
